Meet Lomont Molding’s 2018 EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR, Dave McDowell.
Dave has been in role here at Lomont as a Balancing Technician for seven years where he primarily balances fan wheels that are used in refrigeration units.
He recently went into partial retirement and now works part time Monday through Wednesday. He decided to stay part time as he just enjoys his job and the people he works with so much.
When looking for a candidate for Employee of the Year – we really look for someone who has gone above and beyond to add value to their position and Lomont.
Dave did this by taking the initiative to take on handling the repair work of our rivet guns. Previously these were shipped out to be repaired at significant cost and downtime. Dave has saved Lomont money and time by handling these repairs in-house.
On top of all this Dave is known as one of the most positive workers on the floor. He is always ready to help anyone who needs it and answer any questions. Dave is also cross-trained in other roles and is one of the first to offer to help elsewhere if needed.
When asked; Dave said the most interesting thing he has learned here at Lomont has been the balancing process and he is happy to have a role he enjoys so much.
Outside of work Dave is also a busy father and grandfather! He was born in Mount Pleasant and has lived here his whole life. He has a wife and five daughters. His favorite activities is to go horseback riding and spending time with his family.
